Storm Watcher Winter Lager

New Seasonal!

With the ocean mist glistening in the air, huge swells rolling in from the mighty Pacific and the fury of the gales howling it must be storm season. Much like the storms of the West Coast, our Winter Lager rolls in with notes of caramel and finishes with a crash of malt. Pouring a warm amber-red, this lager combines honey, caramel and crystal malts to create a thirst quenching and slightly warming beer perfect for our winter storms.

Much like the storms of the West Coast, our Winter Lager rolls in with notes of caramel and finishes with a crash of toffee and malt. This subtle sweetness pairs well with red meats, fresh breads and cold nights.

Below are a couple of our favourite recipes to go along with your Storm Watcher Winter Lager. Our suggestion is to experiment as much as possible until you find the one creation you crave daily! Then email us your recipe so we can share it with the world.

Storm Watcher Barbecue Beef

SERVES 6 - 8

Foolproof bbq beef recipe that can easily be modified to suit your tastes.

2.5 - 3 lb beef shoulder roast

1 bottle of Storm Watcher

1/4 - 1/2 cup of your favourite bbq sauce

Roll or bun of preference

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Cayenne powder

Seasoning salt

Black pepper

Paprika

Place roast, fat side down, in the bottom of the crock pot.

Pour Storm Watcher over the roast until it fills up the vessel 1/2 to 2/3 up the side of the roast vertically. Apply all of the dried seasonings to suit your tastes (a heavy hand is good as the flavours absorb as this slow cooks). Place the lid on the crock pot, and set the heat setting to low.

Let it cook for 7 - 8 hours. After it has cooked through and is fork splitting tender, drain the vessel so only the beef, and just enough liquid to cover the bottom of the pot remain.

Pull apart the beef, and mix in the bbq sauce (to taste).

Serve on roll of choice.
